On a wonderful weather weekend in August, Troop 101 embarked on an adventure they had never before undertaken. After camping overnight at Eagle Creek State Park on Friday night, boys and leaders alike enjoyed a day on a pontoon boot on Lake Shelbyville. The Scouts (and some leaders) got to ride both in the boat and go tubing behind the rented craft. As everyone took turns, the rest fished and swam in the lake. The day finished up on the waterfront with a fantastic game of 'watermelon rugby.' After Saturday evening meals were enjoyed by all three patrols, the evening was concluded with a boy-led campfire program, followed by a night hike in order to view a meteor shower. Special thanks goes out to the retiring senior patrol leader for all of his work during his term; his last campout in charge was at Shelbyville.
